Related Q&A: What about the 1000-years? When is the Battle with gog and magog? (Ezek 38 & Rev 20) ‘The Bowl Plagues to Armageddon’ (God’s final wrath)    The Bowls take place from the 1290th-day to the end of 2300-days, after the abomination and rapture, which is about midway to the end of tribulation. That’s because the 1st Bowl (below) cannot start until after the “mark of the beast” is enacted, which doesn’t happen until the False Prophet appears, 42-months (1260 days) after the 1st beast.  In other words, the 10-horned beast exercises his authority for 42-months (Rev 13:5), before the 2-horned beast takes over, which is the false prophet, who enacts the mark of the beast (Rev 13:11-18).  The reason I say 1290-days is that it takes the false prophet 30-days to execute his plan.  Then, it takes another 45-days to martyr the 144,000 Jews for refusing the mark. (Rev 14)  The mark of the beast is what Daniel was referring to when he prophesied, “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1290 days.  Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1335 days.”  (Daniel 12:11-12)  That explains when the 144,000 are martyred, which is why Jesus said, “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened.” (Matthew 24:22)  Anyway, the 1st Bowl can’t start until after the ‘mark of the beast’ is enacted, so it must be after the 1290th-day.  The Bowls complete God’s wrath on earth, ending with Armageddon (7th Bowl), after which Jesus re-consecrates the sanctuary, which happens around the 2300th-day. (Daniel 8:14)  The Bowls (Revelation 16) 1. The first bowl causes ugly and painful sores on everyone with the “mark of the beast” 2. The second bowl turns the sea to blood so everything in the sea dies.  3. The third bowl turns the rivers and springs to blood so there is nothing to drink but blood.  4. The fourth bowl turns the sun scorching hot so people are seared by intense heat.  5. the fifth bowl causes complete darkness in the “kingdom of the beast”.   “Men gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and sores.”  (Rev. 16: 2-11)    In Daniel 11’s timeline, verse 44 skips to the 6th Bowl (below) because there’s not much happening during Bowls 1-5, except pain and agony.  The 6th Bowl starts the real downfall of the beast, which will be nearing the end of the 2300-days.  Notice: They are judged by “what they had done”. That’s because only in the current 2000-year period can a person be saved by the “blood of the Lamb”.  Related page: Why didn’t God kill Satan in the beginning?
Armageddon (the 7th Bowl)   Anyway, news of Babylon’s destruction will enrage the false prophet and he will utilize his strongest magic yet to summon the “kings of the whole world” for a huge battle.  Revelation 16: 13-14 “Three evil spirits that look like frogs will come out of the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet.  They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs and they go out to the kings of the whole world to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.”   Of course, the battle they are preparing for is “Armageddon” but they will be no match for God’s power.  Daniel 11:45 “He will pitch his royal tents between the seas at the beautiful holy mountain. Yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.”   As I said, the leaders of the ‘beast’ (false prophet, antichrist, kings) will gather temporarily (royal tents) near Jerusalem (beautiful holy mountain) because Babylon will be burned.  That’s where they come to their ‘end’ and no one helps them because how could they?      Revelation gives two accounts: one from earth (Rev 16), and one from heaven (Rev 19). Revelation 16: 17-21   (Armageddon - ‘earthly perspective’) The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, "It is done!"  18 Then, there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.  19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.  20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found.  21 From the sky, huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men.  And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.          Revelation 19: 11-15; 19-21  (Armageddon - ‘heavenly perspective’) 11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.  With justice he judges and makes war.  12  His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns.  He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.  13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.  15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." ... 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.  (20) But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet. ...  The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur 21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. Revelation 20: 1-2 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain.  2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. After Armageddon:       While Satan is locked away, Jesus will reign ‘on earth’ for a thousand years. Apparently, some people survive and continue the generations because when the 1000-years are over, Satan is released one last time.  He gathers the nations from the four corners of the earth and gathers them for battle.  They march across the breadth of the earth and surround the camp of God’s people but the outcome is different from before. Revelation 20: 9-10  [end of 1000-years / Battle with gog and magog] But fire came down from Heaven and devoured them.  And the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown.  They will be tormented day and night, forever and ever.”     Then, the dead throughout history will be judged before the “Great White Throne” Rev. 20: 12 & 15  [after Battle with gog and magog / Great White Throne] “Another book was opened, which is the book of life.  The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.  15 If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”       After that, God will create ‘a new heaven’ and ‘a new earth’ because the first earth had passed away and their was no longer any sea.  A magnificent ‘new Jerusalem’ will come down from heaven to be the Holy City and God will finally dwell with humans.  Revelation 21: 1-4 “Now, the dwelling of God is with men and He will live with them.”   “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."   Praise God. “Greater Kurdistan” click map to enlarge As mapped in 1992 Note; The area has expanded in Iraq and Syria.   map of Kurdish offensive called “Wrath of Euphrates” click to enlarge The 6th Bowl Daniel 11:44  [just before Armageddon] “But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.”      I’m pretty sure the “reports” in Daniel 11:44, are due to the 6th Bowl in Revelation: Revelation 16:12   (6th Bowl – just before Armageddon) “The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.” So who are the “kings from the east and the north” who alarm the Beast?   Long story short, I’ve come to believe that they’re the Kurds.  I’ve been thinking that for a while but my beliefs seem to be getting confirmed.  It started to become more evident when the Syrian Kurds were fighting their way along northern Syria, to link up with another group of Kurds in the far north-west.  However, Turkey mobilized their forces to stop that from happening.  Turkey was adamant about keeping the Kurds on the east side of the Euphrates and even named their incursion into northern Syria “Operation Euphrates Shield.”  After that, the Kurds changed their focus to Raqqa and called their operation “Wrath of Euphrates.”  It’s fitting for both to draw a line at the Euphrates River because a river forms a natural barrier for defense.  However, the 6th Bowl dries up the Euphrates to facilitate an attack.  Kurdish Referendum in Prophecy   On September 25, 2017, the Iraqi Kurds voted on a referendum for independence.  Turnout was 76% and the referendum passed with a resounding 92% in favor.  The vote was historical because the Kurds are the largest ethnicity in the world, without an independent state.  They are the fourth largest ethnicity in the Middle East, behind the Arabs, Persians, and Turks, all of which are adamantly against Kurdish independence.    Turkey, Iran, and Iraq have each taken steps to threaten various punishments on the Iraqi Kurds, and/or their own Kurdish populations, if the vote is not cancelled.  On the other hand, the Syrian Kurds have said that they won’t seek independence if they are granted autonomy (self-rule), which Assad has agreed to speak to them about.  The Iraqi Kurds have exercised autonomy since 1991.  They have said that independence won’t be immediate.  They intend to hold a series of negotiations (similar to Brexit), which could take 1-2 years.  It remains to be seen if that will happen.  Just the same, Iran and Turkey are against any such measures because it would eventually embolden their own Kurdish populations to do the same.  After all, the Kurd’s long-term goal is to build Greater Kurdistan, which contains land from Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran.  (left)   The reason this referendum is prophetic is that the Kurds are likely the reason that the beast is “alarmed”, in Daniel 11:44, about the “reports from the east and the north.”  As shown above, the 6th Bowl dries up the Euphrates River to “prepare the way for the kings from the east.”  In other words, Daniel 11:44 and the 6th Bowl are related to the same event because Kurdish territory, in Syria and Turkey, borders the east side of the Euphrates River and the Kurds are natural enemies of the North, which is Iran, Turkey, Iraq, and others.    So, the Kurdish referendum may be seen as monumental by some, the beginning of a long road by others, but it is a huge step in Biblical prophecy concerning end times.  After all, Armageddon is about 2300-days after the abomination and rapture, so the Kurds can do a lot of unifying in 6.3 years, which is exactly what the Arabs, Turks, and Persians don’t want to see happen.  It’s easy to see that the referendum is bringing the North (beast) together, more than ever, because Iran, Turkey, and Iraq are all against it.  Amazingly, Israel is the only country in the world that has openly expressed support for Kurdish independence, which has only brought them further condemnation because they deny the Palestinians the same right.  Therefore, in a way, the Kurdish referendum is serving as both a preparation for the uprising that sets up the ‘abomination that causes desolation’, as well as preparation for the 6th Bowl and Armageddon, in the future.  Everything is proceeding just as God foretold.  Praise Jesus.   Just the same, it’s hard to determine, from scripture, just how negotiations will go with the Kurds.  I mean, based on Revelation 17 (below), it appears as though the Kurds will become part of the beast, temporarily, to help fight and defeat the South (Daniel 11:40-43), and then revolt when the Euphrates dries, as part of the 6th Bowl and Daniel 11:44.  Revelation 17: 12-13  [initially - as part of the 10-horned beast] “The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast.” Revelation 17: 16-17  [later – after the false prophet is in charge (2-horns)] “The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fireFor God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose.”    October 16-17, 2017 - The Iraqi military, along with Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) or Shia militias controlled by Iran, pushed into Kirkuk to take control from the Kurds.  Kirkuk has always been a disputed city, with mixed ethnicity, claimed by both sides.  The Kurds took control, to keep the city from ISIS, after Iraqi troops pulled out in June-2014.  Now, the Kurds have relinquished control of Kirkuk and retreated back to the June-2014 lines, after only a small skirmish between troops, which produced 3-11 causalities.  It appears to be a relatively peaceful exchange, but with the Iraqi government still ignoring the Kurdish referendum for independence, it has to leave some resentment.  Perhaps that feeling of abandonment will play into later developments and spur some hatred, as the verse says.     Update October 31, 2017 – The Kurds in Iraq are worse off now than they were before the vote for independence took place.  Iran, Iraq, and Turkey are more united and emboldened than ever.  Even Assad, in Syria, is emboldened by developments in Iraq and insists that Kurds evacuate Raqqa, Deir al-Zour, and surrounding oil fields.  I imagine that they will comply because Raqqa is too worthlessly damaged to fight over.  And, they probably can’t sell much oil without Turkey.  Plus, compliance will help them in negotiations for future autonomy.  A meeting has been planned for Sochi, Russia, on Nov. 18th   The Kurds were undoubtedly hoping for a better outcome than they are getting, in the aftermath of the war against ISIS.  They are surrounded by four countries (Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey) who are banding together to keep them at bey.  The Kurds may play along for now but that’s all the more reason to seek revenge later, which is part of God’s prophecy.    Note: The prostitute is symbolic for Babylon, which may be the same city that straddled the Euphrates in ancient times, south of Baghdad.  It was partially re-built by Saddam Hussein and the locals think it has magical powers.  It would need a lot more re-building, to become the city that is burned in Revelation 17, but that’s exactly what could happen because a lot of building can be done in 6+ years.  Revelation 18 indicates that a lot of money is spent on expensive cargos of gold, silver, precious stones, etc., in the building of Babylon, after the rapture, because the merchants who get rich from it are heart-broken to see it burn.   Revelation 18:11-12; 19 11 "The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes any more- cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; … 19 They will throw dust on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out: "'Woe! Woe, O great city, where all who had ships on the sea became rich through  her wealth!  In one hour she has been brought to ruin!   One reason I think Babylon will be the same ancient city as before is that the antichrist honors a “god of fortresses” (walls) with the same gold, silver, and precious stones that the merchants deliver to Babylon. (below)  Daniel 11:38 38 Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses; a god unknown to his fathers he will honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts.   Plus, Marduk, who was the patron ‘god’ of Babylon, is depicted on its walls.  Thus, the antichrist would re-build Babylon as a symbolic endeavor because the 2nd Babylonian Empire, led by Nebuchadnezzar, defeated Jerusalem and burned the 1st Temple.  Why else would Saddam start such a project?  Besides, the antichrist will be very angry at God.    Note: That’s the way I see things transpiring, near Armageddon, but they could happen a little differently, because I admit; ancient Babylon is farther south than present-day Kurds.  In other words, Babylon could be symbolic for another city, as long as it is visible by ships on the Euphrates.  I’m flexible because the farther events are into the future, the harder they are to predict and match to current situations.  Yet, they are matching pretty good so far.
